While living in New York I successfully completed the New York State boards exam and became a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in New York State. I later moved to Connecticut and succesfully completed the National Exam where I was awarded the National Certification in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork by the NCBTMB. I then became registered as a Licensed Massage Therapist in Connecticut. I started my business in 2011. First, at a holistic wellness center and then along side a Natropathic Doctor and Chiropractor from 2011-2015.
When becoming settled in the Netherlands, I began working as a Freelancer out of BLOOM - House of Health. After much success regrowing Live to Give Massage, I was excited to have my own office space within the TAURO building on Konninginegracht. In 2019, I joined a community of Yoga instructors and Bodworkers at the former Delight Yoga, now Inner Embassy. In 2021, I took some time off, and in 2023, I joined the team at QoQo Retreat on Noordeinde. I am now delighted to be restarting Live to Give Massage.
A bit of insight into my style of work. I tend to stay in a quiet and concentrated state, giving close attention to what it is I am feeling, but I encourage an openness of communication and work within your level of comfort. Each and every treatment is custom-tailored to you, regardless of price or length of session. My approach is to assist the body in its healing, recovery and injury prevention while always keeping the individual in mind. This field for me, is a Moving Meditation. During treatments, I'm constantly thinking of the muscle's place of origin to its place of insertion, the action(s) of these muscles, the joints where movements occure and the connective tissue/fascia and underlying structures this fascia surrounds. As well the kinetic energy that is generated through touch and Kinaesthetic Awareness through Movement. I highly respect feedback from my clients as I understand that everyone and every body is different.
I remain a Licensed Massage Therapist in both Connecticut and New York State and everyday I look forward to continuing my career as a Licensed Massage Therapist and Massage Instructor here in The Netherlands.
Continuing Education is vital as I believe that my best is not solely in my practice but also in my continued learning. I have 18 hours of continued education in Lomi-Lomi Massage and I've also successfully completed a 24 hour course in Pre/Postnatal Massage. I look forward to even more learning and discovery in the years ahead.
Prior to my education in Therapeutic Massage, I graduated from a four year Bachelor's Degree program at Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts with my major being Psychology and a minor in Dance.
